There is a lot of good in our lives, but I felt 2018 was a challenging year for many of us; for this country, for the world, and for myself also. I don’t want to get into political or religious matters, but many of the problems we face nowadays were in making for a long time, and they seemed to be revealed all the sudden.
Crisis can come one day, and it seems like it just happened from nowhere, but when you dig deeper for the causes of the crisis, we seem to find underlying issues neglected for a long time. That is why it is hard to fix the problem quickly.
This year, it started with the flu epidemic from the previous year. Many people died from flu even though they had flu shots, antibiotics, steroids, and Tamiflu. In September, media was saying some young children under 10 in Minnesota and Colorado suffered from AFM, Acute Flaccid Myelitis, which resembled Polio. In Austin where we live, unlikely we had a lot of rain and we received a rare “water-boil” notice in October. Some of my patients’ health was compromised by the water. In November, I learned from the news we couldn’t eat lettuce due to E-coli contamination for some time. As I write this, cedar is literally full-blown, affecting many central Texas cedar allergy sufferers. Our immune system is always challenged, day and night.
What can we do to prepare for a crisis? Well, unfortunately, eating good food, going to bed early and exercise regularly are still the golden rules of health. If you have bad habits in diet, sleep and not taking care of yourself mindfully, you are on a path to crisis someday. In case you think this idea of “good habits” is too vague, let me be a little more specific.
Diet – Vegetables, vegetables, more vegetables. You can’t eat too many vegetables. Some vegetables such as spinach, asparagus, tomatoes, mushrooms, potatoes, carrots, celery, and green beans are more beneficial when cooked. Bell peppers, broccoli, onions, and garlic should be eaten raw sometimes. Variety of vegetables, raw and cooked will be the winning combination. Sugar in general, is stressful for your digestion and immune system, as it can feed harmful microbes in your gut. Sugar, starches, and alcohol can cause bloating. That is gas from harmful microbes with poor digestion. Fruits are high in fructose (fruit sugar). It is hard on our liver if you consume in high amount. I heard late Steve Jobs was a fruitarian, hence his company name was from a fruit. It is a shame we lost a genius so early. Some say his diet habits may have put him on a path to his illness. Fruit seems to be harmless but should be eaten sensibly. More raw vegetables, less sugar.
Sleep – Many of my patients are exhausted, and I tell them what they need is sleep, and 16 hours of it every day! However, it is not very practical. Some patients proudly say they are sleeping for 8 hours a day, from midnight to 8:00 am. That is not bad, but if you want to take your health to the next level, I would recommend you to be at deep sleep between 9 to11pm. We call that time “endocrine time” in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Your growth hormone is released at a peak, 1 hour after you fell asleep. Growth hormone repairs your cells and helps your weight loss. A well-rested body has less stress, and the less stress you have, the more immune function you get.
Exercise – Physical activity may help flush harmful microbes out, and helps prevent catching a cold, flu and other diseases. Exercise causes change in antibodies and white blood cells, circulating in the body more rapidly, hence they can detect disease more efficiently. Raising temperature by moving discourages harmful microbes to grow. Exercise slows down the release of stress hormones, which lowers the immune system. How much exercise? Experts say only 7 minutes of high-intensity circuit training with your body weight resistance will do the trick. If you don’t like high intensity, something like Tai Chi with mindful breathing will cultivate a stronger immune system. I just started it, and I LOVE it!
Regular Detox – Even though you eat, sleep and exercise well, there is more you can do to sharpen your immune system – detoxification. We are exposed to toxins not knowingly. Your immune system is working so hard, so you don’t know you are exposed to toxins every day. However, if you are not feeling so great, that means your immune system is getting tired from all the burdens. You are a living organism, and organisms are living in you as well. There are a lot of daily wastes from your dead cells and microbes you have in you. If you can’t eliminate your dead bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites, you will start to feel bad. Also, your skin products, cleaning agents, air fresheners can be stored in your fat. Your organic spinach comes in a plastic container, which has BPA (mimics Estrogen). Go figure! I would recommend at least once a year. I do twice a year.
Cleaning Chronic Infection – We all get sick from time to time. We knew we were sick by having symptoms; lethargy, nasal congestion, coughs, sneezing, phlegm, pain, bowel change, mental fogginess, etc. Most likely, you were infected by some pathogens. You also knew you got better because you didn’t have these symptoms anymore. You feel these pathogens left you completely. However, those pathogens can stay in you for a long time, for years and decades. These microbes are especially left dormant in you when you treat them with antibiotics, antiviral, antifungal or antiparasitic medicines. They form a biofilm so that your immune system cannot recognize those harmful pathogens any more. They stay in you as we call “stealth pathogen”. These things can cause chronic pain, such as migraines, menstrual pain, joint pain, muscle pain, etc., chronic digestive, respiratory, endocrine, skin, mental problems, and chronic fatigue. Seasonal allergies have chronic infections underneath. Chronic infections are the worst underlying issues of many problems, and it is difficult to get rid of. I call these are sleeping lions, and they wake up if above mentioned, diet, sleep, exercise, and stress are not where they need be. To get rid of this sleeping lion, you need major intervention.
How to treat chronic infection by “stealth pathogens” effectively at Bamboo Field Acupuncture
I am a clinician, and I can only write what I know. From what I know, there is only 1 way to successfully treat stealth pathogen. NAET (Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique). In our clinic, we treat at least 5 food items first (Egg Mix, Calcium Mix, Vitamin C Mix, Vitamin B Mix, Sugar Mix, and the order may be different depending on a patient). Then, case by case, I may need to treat more food items, or we may proceed to more complicated problems, such as allergies to organs, vaccines, medications, infections, etc. This way, your immune system can recognize what it’s after. At the same time, if your body is ready, I put on a gut recondition protocol. If you have taken a lot of pharmaceutical medication, antibiotics, steroids, etc., your gut is not right. I don’t put you on probiotics, because most of you are probably not ready for that. I will probably clean up your gut that is full of harmful microbes. When your stealth pathogen is treated with NAET, I may try to go for more active “kill” with herbs or homeopathic remedies.
If you are defeated with your allergies, eczema, asthma, chronic illness, pain, autoimmune diseases, there are ways to combat with natural, holistic alternative ways. You are not familiar with it, because it is so different from what you grew up with; conventional Western medicine. That doesn’t mean, it is not for you. If you feel you tried everything to be out of your health crisis, but not working for you, and if you are ready to try some completely different approaches to your crisis, please give us a call for a free phone consultation.
