What to Expect
Usually, your first visit will begin with an extensive intake and in-depth assessment of your past and current health condition along with an initial NAET®, acupuncture or nutritional/herbal prescription. The first appointment will last up to 120 minutes. You will be given comprehensive assessment, explanation, treatment, and treatment plan.
During the assessment, you will be asked about things that you may think are irrelevant to your chief complaint. For example, questions about eating habits, sleeping patterns, emotional turmoil and life events may be asked. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, everything is taken into consideration because we believe the symptoms you have are a manifestation of an imbalance of your physical, physiological, emotional and spiritual health. This background information is very important to develop the most appropriate treatment plan. Megumi will administer Neuromuscular Sensitivity Testing to better understand what your current health condition is, find a treatment plan and prognosis.
For treatment, it is best to wear something loose and comfortable, as you may be asked to push up your sleeves or pant legs. You may be asked to take off your accessories during a treatment. It is easier for Megumi to treat you if you have less texture on your back, for example intricate laces, holes, knobs, etc., as she will tap around your spine area. You may want to bring comfortable clothes to change into if you are wearing business clothes to avoid making wrinkles.
Follow up visits are shorter once there is a treatment plan already in place and usually last about an hour.
